ARTISTS that have works displayed at Gingerbread are all local to Arenal and Costa Rica. There is a growing art community around the lake and it is our aim to support those individuals that produce fine art as well as cater to those that appreciate it.
LEONA is an accomplished dancer turned fine artist that has a working studio on Lake Arenal. She works mostly on silk with brilliant colors depicting dance as well as flowers and birds. JUAN CARLOS RUIZ is an active acrylic painter and muralist, he received his art degree in San Jose. Juan returned to Lake Arenal to create his own studio/cafe called Casa Delagua on the family farm. JUAN CARLOS GARCIA is many things, a painter/muralist (painting the nature and landscapes of Costa Rica), a real estate agent, and an art buyer. He brings in art from Central and South America to display in his art shop next to the Gingerbread. There are 2 paintings for purchase and there are others in his collection.
